New Headphones from OnVocal Let You Talk to Alexa Any Time

Alexa, the voice assistant from Amazon, is becoming increasingly popular. As a result, more and more third party companies have been creating gadgets that allow users to connect to it in a more convenient way. That is certainly the case with OV from OnVocal.

              What is OV?

OV is a new set of headphones. OnVocal is a company that aims to make talking to voice assistants easier than ever, no matter the user’s location. The headphones actually include Amazon’s Alexa Voice and Music Services built in. The features can be used thanks to an Alexa button that is situated right on the headset. The OV is made up of microphones meant to detect sound in an accurate manner when picking up on voice instructions. The headphones are worn via a collar that wraps around the person’s neck and with a pair of earbuds that are inserted in the ears.

              Look and Feel of Headphones

The overall look of the headphones is a little bulky, but it’s important to note that OV is targeted specifically toward people who want to use voice assistants in an easier and more convenient manner. In spite of its look, the device makes communicating with Alexa far easier than merely communicating with your voice alone, mainly thanks to the dedicated Alexa button.

              OV Capabilities

The OV headphones have access to over 5,000 Skills from the Alexa Skills marketplace. This allows users to control just about anything, from their favorite music app to Internet of Things devices and even a connected car. The headphones can even be used to order items from Amazon and plenty of other companies.

Activating Alexa is simple with the OV. It takes a mere tap of the dedicated Alexa button and you can also adjust the volume. You can also control different sounds for ambience, voice or chat through the OnVocal iOS or Android app. With the headphones, you can control not only Alexa but Echo and Echo Tap as well.

The headphones are said to provide up to eight hours of music playback or chatting. Its power source is located within the collar that is worn around the user’s neck.

The OV headphones will be priced at $399 and are scheduled to ship as of January 10, 2017 for preorders.
